Mt. Jinyin Eastface

Mt. Jinyin is also called Mt. Dai. It is 6410 meters above sea level. This mountain is located 9km southeast to Mt. Gongga. Mt. Jinyin is located in the south part of Minya Konka Range. It is the southernmost mountain on the southeast ridge of Mt. Gongga. Its northwest is Mt. Sanlian and Mt. Chushan. The col beween Mt. Sanlian and Mt. Jinyin is at 5600 meters.Mt. Jinyin is the most prominent mountain in Hailuogou Glacier Park. The name Jinyin means Gold and Silver, indicating the golden glows and whote snow of this mountain, an important view of the glacier park of Hailuogou.

Former Attempts

The east face has an unstable weather and possiblity of anvalanche is high. The base of its east side is at 3500 meters and base of west side is at 4500 meters. This mountain can be accessed from its east, southeast, south and west. 

In 2005 January, a Korean team attempted from east ridge to north ridge and reached at around 5500 meters.

In 2006 March, another Korean team reached around 5700 meters by east ridge.

In 2018 Jan, a Chinese team reached the summit from its south side. It’s easier to access from its south due to its stable weather condition and ice.
